For a prominent media corporation’s NY Headquarters, EGG Electric was selected by J.T. Magen to install the lighting and power for their clever and spectacular office. Fitting out three existing floors at 125 W 55th street, the space featured a stunning array of integrated lighting installed into a mix of sculptural spatial experiences connecting the floors together. The architecture included a multi-level central auditorium with media screen, a pinlight entry hallway programmed as a sound and light experience, and striking office use pods for pantries and private meeting uses nestled in the space.
Project specific challenges were driven by both the three-dimensionality of the renovation, as well as by the existing structure. Working with exposed conduit on waffle slab structural decks, Egg electricians had to consider every move made, to ensure the look and feel of the space would not be disrupted. Tight clearances for electric closets required adept maneuvering in and out of the core. EGG employed innovative planning and installation methods to tackle these issues, while maintaining the client’s vision for the space, and delivering the job on schedule.
